Job Summary

The Grocery Combo Manager oversees the Grocery and Front-End departments, maximizing sales while achieving labor goals, developing staff, controlling expenses, managing merchandising and inventory, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and company policies.

Responsibilities
  • Develop projected weekly labor plans, create and adjust staffing schedules, and approve time‑off requests.
  • Assign duties to shift employees, schedule breaks, and manage shift‑to‑shift transitions.
  • Maintain merchandising standards, display presentation, POS standards, and daily inventory levels.
  • Ensure appropriate merchandise stock levels, quality control, rotation, and shelving.
  • Set priorities and objectives for department staff, supervise task completion, and review productivity.
  • Analyze department/store trends, recommend and implement changes to achieve goals.
  • Address customer complaints, process returns, and resolve issues to maintain positive customer relations.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems and coordinate repairs with vendors.
  • Assist in training new team members, coach and motivate staff, and promote a collaborative team environment.
  • Conduct monthly inventories of perimeter departments and quarterly full store inventories.
  • Serve as Acting Store Director in their absence and perform related duties as assigned.
  • Evaluate employee performance, conduct internal interviews, establish disciplinary actions, and recommend terminations when necessary.
  • Verify cashier and clerk drawers, open and close the department, and produce required daily reports.
  • Administer the It’s Showtime Customer Service program, mentoring staff to ensure a pleasant shopping experience.
  • Contact vendors, monitor front‑end equipment, and recommend policy improvements.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum five years of retail supervisory experience, with experience as a Relief Manager or Person in Charge preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and market trends to make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and motivate a team.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand and walk for extended periods (8‑hour shifts).
  • Lift up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Perform repetitive motions (reaching, bending, stooping, squatting).
  • Operate necessary equipment and tools, maintain hand‑eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Maintain clear communication with customers and team members.
Work Conditions
  • Work Hours:

    Flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Environment:
    Indoor, climate‑controlled, adequate lighting, ventilation.
  • Primary Work Stations:
    Grocery store sales floor, backrooms, and exterior areas.
  • Dress Code:
    Professional with company‑issued or approved attire (name tag, shirt, jacket, hat).
  • Exposure:
    Possible contact with moving mechanical parts and cleaning chemicals.
  • Noise Level: Low to moderate, with occasional louder periods from customers, announcements, and equipment.
  • Interaction:
    Frequent interaction with customers and team members.
Compensation

Pay Range: $70,304.00 – $99,360.00 (exempt, full‑time)
