Vision for the Role

The General Store Clerk plays a vital role in fostering a supportive and fun atmosphere at camp by helping provide snacks, drinks, souvenirs, and basic supplies for campers and guests at Hume’s General Store. This individual provides general help and assistance in providing quality products and customer service with a joyful and servant‑hearted demeanor.

• Duties include cashiering, stocking shelves, maintaining organization and cleanliness of the store, and answering questions about products.
• Follow all safety procedures and directions provided by supervisors.
• Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude, contributing to a Christ‑centered team environment.
• Represent Hume Christian Camps’ values and mission through conduct, attitude, and service.

• Must be at least 18 years of age at the start of employment.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Willingness to perform physical tasks and work outdoors or indoors as needed.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work under supervision.
• Must agree with and support Hume Christian Camps’ Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct.
• Must have a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a desire to share the Gospel through word and deed.

• Ability to stand, walk, frequently lift 25 pounds, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.

• Live and work in extreme weather conditions, at high altitude, and in small living quarters.

• Be a part of a tight‑knit community of believers serving the mission of the camp.
• Incredibly beautiful views and environment, camping, and walking/running trails.
• On‑site housing is provided for a minimal rate.
• Dining on‑site for minimal cost.
• On‑site healthcare options and emergency services, as needed.
• A quick walk to a store onsite for grocery and gas supplies.
