Checker, Retail

Cal Mart Super is seeking a friendly, accurate Checker to join our Customer Service & Support team. In this role, you will efficiently scan and bag groceries, process payments, and provide helpful, courteous service at the front end. You'll verify prices, handle cash and electronic transactions, and follow all store and safety procedures. Checkers assist with resolving basic customer questions, maintaining a clean, organized checkout area, and supporting teammates during busy periods.

Responsibilities

• Accurately scan and ring up items at the checkout lanes.
• Process cash, credit, debit, and other payment types securely.
• Bag groceries carefully, following store standards and customer preferences.
• Greet customers, answer basic questions, and resolve simple concerns.
• Verify prices, apply discounts, and follow store policies on returns and coupons.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe checkout area.
• Monitor item quantities at checkout and alert staff to potential issues.
• Follow cash-handling, security, and loss-prevention procedures.
• Support teammates during rush periods and assist with front-end tasks as needed.
• Adhere to all company, food safety, and workplace safety guidelines.
