Rugby Architectural Building Products is a wholesale distributor of specialty building products, operating out of 26 branches throughout the United States. Our primary business is non-structural architectural grade building products sold principally to customers who create and produce end-products for the commercial, industrial, retail, residential and institutional markets.

Outside Sales Representative | SoCal, CA

Position: We are looking for an Outside Sales Representative
, responsible for growing business and selling our product line in a specific territory.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Commission based compensation with expected annual earnings ranging from $65,000 - $100,000, with uncapped commissions offering significant earning potential.

Your Day-to-Day: To excel in this role, you will need to:

  • Sell our products to current customers in the region through a focus on customer service, managing sales throughout the territory, and maintaining the customer base.
  • Grow sales by increasing our customer base to new customers—calling on potential new customers throughout the territory.
  • Communicate the needs of the customer with the branch to ensure an optimized product mix and increased future sales.
  • Communicate with inside sales staff to coordinate and synchronize sales efforts, leading conversations and developing business through sales growth and customer service.
  • Accompany vendors’ sales representatives as needed, calling on appropriate customer accounts to satisfy vendor concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Interest in working for a company that values hard work and loyalty.
  • Competitive drive to win.
  • Minimum of 6-10 years sales experience, ideally in an outside sales or territory sales representative role, and ideally within the construction sales or building materials industry.
  • Knowledge of millwork and understanding of 2-step distribution.
  • Ability to travel as needed throughout the territory.
  • Excellent customer service skills; knowledge of DMSi Agility software a plus.
  • Previous driving a company vehicle; position considered Safety Sensitive, subject to routine drug screening.
