The Facility Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Technician is responsible for executing a facility-wide pest prevention program that supports food safety, product quality, and regulatory compliance. This role focuses on monitoring pest activity, identifying risks, and partnering across departments to ensure effective, consistent pest control practices that meet company and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities- Support implementation and continuous improvement of the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program.
- Maintain and update IPM tracking software in coordination with the IPM Lead.
- Conduct routine inspections of manufacturing areas, storage bins, mills, and offsite facilities to identify and address pest risks.
- Perform daily monitoring of pest control systems, including pheromone traps, rodent devices, and mosquito controls.
- Document and report pest activity and food safety concerns in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with company safety programs, California regulations, and pesticide handling requirements.
- Track and document all pesticide usage and support regulatory approvals and registrations.
- Stay informed on regulatory updates and industry best practices.
- Provide accurate pest data and support audits, inspections, and heat treatment activities.
- Act as a resource to departments on pest prevention and organic control methods.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience, 3-4 years preferred.
- Must maintain a valid CA driver’s license or in the state of residence and meet insurability standards of our auto insurance carrier.
- Demonstrated ability to draft internal communication in English.
- Useful knowledge of basic formula calculations.
- Basic Microsoft Office (Excel, Work, Outlook).
- Working knowledge in grain harvesting, storage, and milling.
- Knowledgeable in the areas of general entomology, organic stored pest prevention, organic rodent/bird control, facility sanitation practices, and organic pesticides.
- California Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) Pesticide Applicator certification preferred.
