About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Scientist with a focus on Contaminant Remediation to join their dedicated environmental consulting team in Welkom . This role is essential for developing and implementing effective strategies to address soil and groundwater contamination at various industrial and commercial sites. The Senior Environmental Scientist will lead field investigations, risk assessments, and the design and oversight of remediation projects, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

- Lead site investigations for environmental contamination, including sampling and analysis of soil, water, and air.
- Develop and implement remediation strategies and action plans for contaminated sites.
- Conduct human health and ecological risk assessments.
- Manage project budgets and timelines, ensuring timely and cost-effective project delivery.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, regulatory submissions, and permit applications.
- Supervise field technicians and junior scientists, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
- Master's or PhD degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Hydrogeology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in environmental consulting, with a strong background in contaminant hydrogeology and remediation technologies.
- Proven expertise in site characterization, risk assessment, and the design/implementation of remediation systems (e.g., groundwater treatment, soil vapor extraction).
- Proficiency in relevant environmental modeling software and GIS.
- Excellent report writing, communication, and project management skills.
- Professional registration (e.g., Pr.Sci.Nat) is highly desirable.
