Job Summary

Serve and protect the guests, staff and physical assets of Palisades Tahoe while maintaining the company service standards, safety policies and procedures.

Compensation

Base hourly pay range: $18.00 - $25.92 per hour. Actual pay may vary based on experience, education, training, location, performance, and other factors. The listed range is one component of the total compensation package, which may also include short‑term and long‑term incentives and region‑specific benefits.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide a safe environment for staff and guests 24 hours a day.
  • Patrol the resort and provide protection to all guests and employees.
  • Remain visible and accessible, monitoring for criminal activity, violations of the Courtesy Code, and assisting guests.
  • Check doors and windows of buildings to ensure they are tightly closed and locked; record any unlocked doors or windows in the Daily Log and submit information to supervisors.
  • Transport guests and staff as needed.
  • Unlock and/or lock doors as requested by appropriate staff.
  • Identify safety hazards and either remedy the problem or report to the Risk/Safety Manager.
  • Respond to alarms and dispatched calls, deciding what actions to take based on the situation, known facts, and position limitations.
  • Maintain a comprehensive Daily Log.
  • Collaborate with the fire department, law enforcement, and other departments as required.
  • Complete accurate and thorough incident reports.
Competencies and

Job Requirements
  • Knowledge of basic security and fire inspection procedures.
  • Ability to follow all policies and procedures contained in the Security Manual.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong sense of customer service and safety awareness.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Maintain a neat and clean appearance in compliance with company grooming standards.
  • Punctuality; able to report at scheduled start time in all weather conditions.
  • Work well as part of a team.
  • Skill in observing situations and making decisions.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Effectively communicate with people in potentially stressful situations.
  • High level of interpersonal skills for handling sensitive and confidential situations.
Education and Experience
  • 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A valid California Security License issued by the BSIS.
  • Basic CPR/AED and first aid training.
  • Minimum one year of security experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements

Walk, talk, see, hear, and smell regularly. Walk or stand 90% or more of an eight‑hour shift. Walk over uneven terrain such as hiking trails or snow. Push or pull up to 50 lb and occasionally lift or carry up to 50 lb. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employees may be exposed to and immersed in outside weather conditions throughout the year, including inclement winter weather.
