Campus Supervisor Subs 10-2025

Los Alamitos Unified School District is seeking a Campus Supervisor for a substitute, on-call position. The salary is $20.83 hourly and the location is multiple sites in California.

The basic function of this role is to patrol a school campus to ensure security and student safety, assist in enforcing student attendance rules, report misuse of facilities, and provide student supervision and other job-related duties as assigned.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Patrolling and monitoring an assigned school campus to maintain order, safety, and security
  • Ensuring student compliance with school and district policies and regulations
  • Utilizing and responding to calls on a two-way radio to communicate with school office and other security personnel
  • Unlocking and locking gates, doors, lockers, and school facilities as directed
  • Preventing or breaking up fights and disturbances, and reporting violations to school administrators
  • Checking for and reporting safety hazards to appropriate administrators
  • Maintaining positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and community
  • Supervising students during special or after school events and school site construction projects
  • Performing other job-related duties as assigned

Knowledge and abilities required include:

  • Student guidance principles and practices
  • Interpersonal relations skills using tact, patience, and courtesy
  • Basic customer service skills for a school or office
  • Security patrol tactics
  • Basic methods of individual and group supervision
  • Health and safety regulations, including basic first aid, CPR, AED, and blood borne pathogens
  • Emergency response protocol

Education and experience required:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or Certificate of Completion
  • Experience working with youth in an organized setting
  • Completion of the Security Officer Training course within the first six months of employment
  • Valid First Aid Certificate issued by a certified organization
