Overview
The Security and Loss Prevention Expert (SLP Expert) is a key leadership position within Amazon’s Security and Loss Prevention (S&LP) team. This role leads the effort to efficiently and effectively provide End‑to‑End (E2E) S&LP services across all assigned operational business units. The position reports to the SLP Cluster Manager.
Key Responsibilities- Identify vulnerabilities and conduct root cause analysis using data to define mitigating actions while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Actively monitor and report outcomes for systems and tools that generate data indicating site/region opportunities.
- Manage confidential investigations and prepare prompt reports of theft, fraud, and workplace violence/critical incidents.
- Utilize continuous improvement to drive process enhancements and increase efficiency.
- Serve as the department’s liaison and security/crisis management subject‑matter expert, keeping site leadership informed on key issues, strategies, and performance.
- Identify, promote and implement security best practices while effectively partnering with internal customers to evaluate current and future security needs, processes, and initiatives, incident response planning, facilitating and management.
- Work travel up to 50% domestic regional when applicable.
- Lift up to 49 pounds and perform frequent pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching; stand or walk for up to 12 hours during shifts; work in environments with variable noise, temperature, weather, and stairs.
- Cover 24/7 operations and work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
As an SLP Expert, you will join a team of S&LP professionals providing security as a service to business customers across multiple units within a geographical area. You will conduct regular physical security audits, investigate policy violations and loss events, monitor systems and tools, analyze data reports, and conduct interviews. Your findings help identify process vulnerabilities and drive mitigating measures. You will maintain the physical integrity of sites by auditing systems, collaborating with subject‑matter experts and external suppliers, and contributing to budget planning for external suppliers.
You will partner with external security service providers to ensure high‑quality services, manage multiple high‑impact initiatives, deliver loss prevention education, and implement the S&LP plan.
Worldwide Operations Security (WWOS) is the global organization supporting field Loss Prevention. It provides a secure environment for Amazon’s operations, affiliates, and retail businesses through policy, training, technology, risk management, audit, and compliance.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 4+ years of relevant professional or military experience.
- 2+ years of security service, loss prevention, asset protection, investigations, or law enforcement experience, or 2+ years of Amazon (Blue Badge/FTE) experience.
- Experience implementing metric‑based strategies utilizing continuous improvement concepts.
- Experience maintaining and implementing physical security systems and coordinating vendors.
- 2+ years of operational experience in risk management, audit, data analytics, inventory control, quality assurance, retail, warehouse, distribution center services, delivery service, or supply chain.
- Investigative interviewing experience and relevant certifications such as Loss Prevention Qualified, Certified Protection Professional, Certified Forensic Interviewer, or Certified Threat Assessment.
- Workplace incident mitigation or de‑escalation and business continuity planning experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel pivot tables and chart development.

The base salary range for this position is 70,400.00 – 86,700.00 USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
