Position: SECURITY SPECIALIST with Security Clearance
Location: China Lake

Duties
* You will provide essential daily support across a broad spectrum of functional areas including communications, information, physical, international, industrial, and personnel security.
* You will ensure the seamless coordination of command security requirements across all levels of security, including Special Access Programs (SAP), Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and collateral classified information.
* You will actively gather and understand complex operational requirements from command leadership, accurately interpreting DoW and local security policies to ensure mission objectives are met compliantly.
* You will lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of comprehensive, command-wide Security Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* You will manage the response to all security incidents and electronic spillages, guiding immediate containment actions, overseeing information gathering for Command Preliminary Inquiries, and identifying root causes to prevent recurrence. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
* Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

* Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
* Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Security Fundamental Professional certification.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
* Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate:
At the DA-05 Level: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11/12) or pay band (DA-04) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector in order to perform the duties of a Security Specialist. Specialized experiences must include duties related to the following: (1) Serving as a subject matter expert on regulatory security frameworks to ensure the proper protection, handling, and marking of information at varying security and classification levels;

(2) Executing comprehensive facility self-inspections, secure space reviews, and compliance checks, inclusive of identifying vulnerabilities and implementing creative risk-mitigation strategies; (3) Handling unusual security incidents, providing guidance for immediate resolution, and recommending corrective actions to avoid future incidents; (4) Researching and analyzing highly sensitive security issues, establishing operational priorities, and developing innovative solutions; and (5) Communicating technical information to the workforce and developmental employees for training purposes.

At the DA-04 Level: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09/10) or pay band (DA-03) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector in order to perform the duties of a Security Specialist. Specialized experiences must include duties related to the following: (1) Applying comprehensive knowledge of security regulations to ensure the proper protection, handling, and marking of information at varying classification levels;

(2) Conducting routine security inspections to independently identify vulnerabilities and implement standard risk-mitigation measures; (3) Reporting and documenting security incidents, initiating immediate containment actions, and gathering essential factual information to support preliminary inquiries; and (4) Interpreting standard security policies to resolve routine challenges, provide actionable recommendations, and deliver structured security briefings to the workforce.
