SUMMARY

Are you friendly, professional, and enjoy helping others? Sierra’s Lead Security Officer provides security functions to both internal and external guests. Work to prevent thefts and fraud around the ski resort and help insure a safe and orderly environment for guests and employees. As a customer focused organization, a crucial part of each employee’s job is to get and keep guests.

Duties

and Responsibilities are (but not limited to):
  • Assists the Chief of Security with daily tasks, including (but not limited to) admirative responsibilities, hiring, training, motivating, scheduling, evaluating and disciplining department staff of 8-12 employees.
  • Assist the Chief of Security with the daily operations and management of the Lost & Found office (i.e. inventory control, daily logs, staffing, communications with property owner, etc.).
  • Assist the Chief of Security in communicating daily duties and special projects with department staff.
  • Provide vehicle and foot patrol of company property and grounds.
  • Provide safety protection of all company property, employees, and guests; ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Assist in the investigation of accidents, injuries, and suspected crimes across the resort.
  • Complete daily reports, logs, and other required written documents.
  • Assist with locker inquiries and provide services to these guests as needed.
  • Security activities, traffic control, aid to the public as required (i.e. lost keys, first aid, help resolve conflict using diplomatic tact, etc.).
  • Operate vehicles including, but not limited to, cars, trucks, and snowmobiles when authorized by supervisor to transport guests and/or products to designated locations.
  • Assist with Ski Patrol, Guest Services, and other departments as needed.
  • Contribute to team effort by participating in job sharing, assuming responsibility for the cleanliness of the resort and safety of guests and employees; participating in safety meetings; accepting diverse assignments; maintain a positive and friendly attitude and demeanor in all internal and external interactions.
  • Meet service level objectives and department goals as set forth by immediate supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY
  • Protect the safety of self, co-workers, and Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort guests at all times.
  • Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.
  • Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor and/or dispatch.
  • Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures.
  • Operate equipment in a safe manner that will not lead to injury of yourself or others.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.); or six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Successful completion of any specialized training modules as required by the State of California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS
