The Licensed Electrician is directly responsible to the Manager of Plant Facilities and, through him/her, to the Assistant Superintendent for Business/Board Secretary and the Superintendent of Schools.

Must be capable of functioning in the maintenance, repair, modification and installation of all voltage electrical equipment and systems associated with generation, distribution controls and motor repairs.

• Is responsible for assembling, installing and maintaining electrical systems within the district facilities.
• Must be knowledgeable in the understanding and reading of blueprints for installing wiring in offices and classrooms in conduit (pipe and tubing) inside partitions, walls, or other areas as designated by building plans.
• Must possess knowledge of installing coaxial or fitter cable for computers and telecommunications equipment.
• Must advise management if continued operation of equipment would be hazardous.
• Must make periodic inspections of equipment to locate and correct defects before breakdowns occur.
• Must work with the district-assigned engineering firm when working with complex electronic devices.
• Must follow strict safety rules to prevent injury from electrical shocks, falls and cuts.
• Must have the knowledge to set up and draw diagrams for entire electrical systems.
• Must have the capability to perform work on food service equipment, alarm systems, all types of electrical appliances, exhaust fans, heaters and boilers.
• Must perform all other duties as assigned by the Manager of Facilities.
