The OpportunityWe are looking for skilled and certified Traffic Control Technicians local to the Hoopa, CA area to lead our safety operations from the ground floor! This position reports to the Traffic Control Manager and represents an excellent opportunity to join an active, well-funded team, gain valuable experience, and advance your career as GRC grows.
Responsibilities- Supervise traffic control crews and serve as the on-site point of contact for traffic operations
- Plan, set up, and remove traffic control devices (signs, cones, barriers) according to project requirements
- Direct and maintain safe traffic flow using stop/slow paddles and clear communication
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal traffic control and safety regulations
- Conduct daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA) briefings and enforce safety protocols
- Train, mentor, and guide traffic control team members in proper setup, signaling, and safety practices
- Coordinate with project managers, construction crews, and inspectors to support field operations
- Assist with general labor tasks as needed, including trenching, loading/unloading equipment, and site cleanup
- Maintain equipment, signage, and tools to ensure readiness and safe operation
- Minimum 2 years of traffic control or construction experience; leadership experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of MUTCD standards and traffic control best practices
- Ability to lead and communicate effectively with crews and management
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as required
- Valid driver’s license required (CDL A preferred)
- Valid Flagger Certification (ATSSA or state‑recognized) - Must have
- Traffic Control Technician (TCT) Certification – required or obtainable
- Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) Certification – required for supervisory roles
- Utility Knowledge: Experience with FTTH/FTTX or telecommunications construction projects.

Skills:
Strong analytical and organizational skills to manage multiple job sites. - Communication: Exceptional verbal communication skills, especially when de‑escalating interactions with the motoring public.
Salary Range: $23 - $27 Hourly, based on experience
Schedule: Day Shift: Monday - Friday & Night Shift: Sunday - Thursday
Travel Requirements: 100%
