Overview
Aircraft Mechanic (UH-1) – Mcclellan, CA. This position requires performing maintenance and repair of Sac Metro UH-1 helicopters. The technician assigned to the maintenance of the district's rotorcraft will handle inspections, repairs, and overall airworthiness.
Qualifications- FAA A&P Certificate.
- Valid Class C California driver’s license.
- Minimum 8 years of experience as a Journeyman level certified A&P technician performing rotorcraft inspection and maintenance, with at least 5 years of experience specifically on Bell UH-1 rotorcraft or similar variants. Military experience may satisfy the 8‑year requirement if duties were equivalent.
- FAA regulations related to the maintenance, modification, and repair of UH-1 rotorcraft, engines, and related systems.
- FAA‑approved maintenance and inspection procedures, manuals, and techniques.
- Rotorcraft shop maintenance organization, workload assessment, and assignment.
- Rotorcraft structures, systems, controls, engines, and components.
- Assist in the emergency repair and recovery of damaged rotorcraft.
- Plan the daily workflow of maintenance and repairs.
- Inspect rotorcraft and systems for condition and continued airworthiness.
- Coordinate the documentation of the maintenance and repair of rotorcraft.
- Recover damaged rotorcraft.
- Return rotorcraft to service after major modification, maintenance, or repair.
- Maintain rotorcraft work order packages and compile all necessary documentation on maintenance.
- Track technician work hours and shop hours involved in the various levels of maintenance.
- Provide consultations and guidance to the District regarding Metro Fire rotorcraft maintenance issues.
- Hourly rate: $46.80 - $50.00, adjusted for education, experience, knowledge, skills, and market alignment.
