Job Overview
Must have knowledge of water, fuel, gas, steam, and sewer piping, distribution systems and associated piping. Operates, maintains, modifies, troubleshoots, and repairs water, fuel, gas, steam and sewer piping and distribution systems. Solder and cement piping using brazing equipment and approved plastic piping cements and bonding agents.
Key Responsibilities- Determines the type, amount and sizes of materials required to perform plumbing tasks in accordance with established state and federal codes.
- Lays out, constructs, installs, repairs, rebuilds and tests plumbing and pipe systems.
- Performs preventative/corrective maintenance.
- Ability to identify location of required parts and materials.
- Knowledgeable in all standard operation procedures within the division and work instructions.
- Participation in all APTIM/HDSS EHS and Quality procedures.
- Ability to use equipment manuals and follow and understand manufacturers’ specifications to include the M.S.D.S.
- Must be able to act professionally in the presence of the public and co-workers.
- Must be able to accurately track time, work orders, and parts using electronic devices.
- Participate in employee enhancement programs.
- Housekeeping-cleaning office and shop areas.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicant must be able to demonstrate a Journeyman level of proficiency in plumbing tasks. Minimum of four years plumbing experience. Applicant must be able to verify four (4) years of plumbing experience working for a licensed plumbing contractor or, if self-employed, four (4) years with a C-36 license.
- Must possess a valid Class C Driver’s License.
- Demonstrated capability to perform maintenance and repairs to plumbing systems and hot water systems.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $42.70 per hour.
