Aircraft Mechanic

PGS Worldwide is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic in a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position performs installation, testing, repair, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical aircraft systems, including airframe, engine, and structural components. The role requires interpreting engineering drawings and aircraft manuals while working independently with minimal supervision on military and FAA fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft.

Required

Skills
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 4 years of related experience
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools and air tools
  • Ability to read and interpret aircraft manuals
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical fabrication and installation drawings
  • Experience installing and troubleshooting mechanical systems on military and FAA fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft
  • Ability to use sheet metal modification tools
  • U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Skills
  • Heavy aircraft maintenance experience
  • Experience working on DC-9 and/or MD-80 aircraft
  • Skilled in the use of rivet tools and sheet metal tools
  • Experience using machine tools such as shears, brakes, notchers, saws, milling machines, and lathes
  • Experience using measuring tools and test instruments
  • Associate Degree
What You'll Do
  • Perform installation, testing, repair, and preventive maintenance of mechanical and electrical aircraft systems
  • Troubleshoot airframe, engine, and structural components
  • Work from engineering drawings and assist in their development
  • Interpret fabrication and installation drawings to support aircraft modifications and repairs
  • Install and troubleshoot mechanical systems on military and FAA fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft
  • Utilize hand tools, air tools, and sheet metal modification tools to complete assigned tasks
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining quality and safety standards

  • 1st Shift
  • Monday–Friday
  • 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM
