Job Description Summary Technician 1

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Technician 1 to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment in the safest, most effective way possible to avoid downtime. The fleet includes Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools, equipment, and specialty lines such as large‑scale generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil/gas related equipment.

• Perform preventive maintenance on diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, and specialty lines equipment.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues.
• Maintain tool kit and equipment as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and change priorities quickly in a fast‑paced environment.
• Assist in training new technicians and share knowledge with team.

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school or equivalent training desired.
• 1 to 3 years of technician experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment or specialty lines (large‑scale generators, pumps, HVAC, oil & gas equipment).
• Proficiency with hydraulic and electrical systems troubleshooting.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more and work flexible hours, indoors and outdoors.
• Spanish speaking or other bilingual language may be required based on location.

The role requires bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors or outdoors when required.

• Base pay range: $20.89 - $28.72 per hour. Mechanics with applicable tools: $32.00 - $39.00 per hour.
