Journeyman Carpenter / Apprentice Carpenter YOUR ROLE
As a Carpenter, you will work closely with project managers, lead carpenters, trade partners, and homeowners to execute remodeling projects with precision and professionalism. Whether you’re developing your skills as an apprentice or bringing years of experience as a journeyman, you’ll play an important role in delivering the quality craftsmanship and attention to detail that Talmadge Construction is known for.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Carpentry & Construction: Perform or assist with framing, finish carpentry, demolition, installations, and general construction tasks on residential remodeling projects.
- Project Execution: Read plans, follow specifications, and execute work that meets company quality standards and project requirements.
- Site Preparation & Maintenance: Prepare work areas, organize materials, maintain clean job sites, and support a safe and productive work environment.
- Tool & Equipment Operation: Safely operate hand tools and power tools while maintaining equipment and adhering to safety procedures.
- Material Handling: Receive, organize, transport, and install building materials, fixtures, and finish products.
- Team
Collaboration:
Work closely with project managers, designers, trade partners, and fellow team members to ensure projects are completed efficiently and professionally. - Client Interaction: Represent Talmadge Construction with professionalism and respect when interacting with homeowners and occupants.
- Basic construction or carpentry experience preferred.
- Strong desire to learn residential remodeling and develop advanced carpentry skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to take direction.
- Reliable, hardworking, and team-oriented.
- Several years of residential carpentry and remodeling experience.
- Strong knowledge of framing, finish carpentry, and construction methods.
- Ability to work independently and solve problems in the field.
- Experience reading plans and executing detailed work with minimal supervision.
