Seasonal Fruit Evaluator
Monitor pre-harvest and harvest for quality and quantity in a timely manner. Estimate the crop yields and assisting with harvest sequence.
Compensation - $19.00 - $20.00. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
Maintain a valid Driver's License in good standing in order to operate a company vehicle. Assist in Fruit Evaluation Management team duties. Monitor crop volumes and fruit sizing across various ranches. Track trees for in-field fruit cataloging of characteristics and growth. Assist in the harvest sequence and direction of harvest crews. Learn fruit sampling techniques for fruit grading and maturity analysis.
Assist in data entry and management of scientific resources. Training and supervision of seasonal workers. Frequent travel to and from fields will be necessary (vehicle and fuel will be provided).
Familiarity with state specific food safety laws. Ability to see the "big picture" business perspective, but is willing to "roll up their sleeves" and do whatever it takes to get the job done. Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to provide guidance and assistance to all levels of employees. Professional communication skills. Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines consistently.
Ability to perform efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment. Ability to be flexible and adaptable. Demonstrated problem solving and conflict management skills. Ability to employ creative and innovative thought processes. Ability to perform analysis and communicate results effectively. Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Oracle software.
Fruit Evaluation experience, with a specific emphasis in agriculture preferably within a production/manufacturing setting. Supplementary training and/or designations related to the quality assurance or food safety field, or equivalent education and experience, is desirable.
