Mechanic - Heavy Equipment

Position Summary

Heavy Equipment Mechanic – $34.75 per hour, up to $1,500 hiring bonus, training and promotion from within, located in Quincy, California. Responsibilities include routine and preventative maintenance on forklifts, loaders, and other heavy equipment for a state‑of‑the‑art sawmill.

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on gas and propane forklifts, loaders, and various equipment.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical defects, diagnosing issues accurately.
• Conduct safety inspections and maintain detailed maintenance records.
• Adhere to safety rules and regulations at all times.
• Occasional heavy lifting and work in hot and cold environments.
• Work various shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays during busy production periods.

• Working knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Prefer experience in fabrication and metal work.
• Proven experience working on heavy equipment such as forklifts and loaders.
• Minimum age 18 years.
