Trailer Technician

Job Title: Trailer Technician

Location: Fowler, California, United States

Perform basic maintenance, service, and repair on J.B. Hunt trailers, containers, chassis, and other equipment. Work under supervision to ensure all fleet equipment meets J.B. Hunt standards at all times.

• Demonstrate basic knowledge of preventative maintenance and standard repairs related to trailer equipment, including air brake systems and FHWA inspections.
• Accurately perform basic repairs up to company and manufacturer’s specifications, complete work orders, and observe standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines.
• Understand and follow all shop safety procedures.
• Maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers.

Shifts may vary based on location and business needs; include nights and/or weekends as required.

• Must be 18 years of age.
• At least 1 year of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent education/equivalent military experience.
• Demonstration of willingness to work outdoors and across multiple shifts.
• Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds and wear required protective gear/PPE.
• Basic proficiency with computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience with DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes.
• Basic welding skills (MIG and stick).
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient use of time and resources.

Starting pay range: $21.91 – $31.26 per hour. Salary may vary based on skills, experience, geography, and other qualifications. Employees may be eligible for annual bonuses and incentives in accordance with company plans.
