About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Irrigation Technician to join their agricultural operations based in Welkom . This role is essential for maintaining and optimizing the water delivery systems critical for crop health and yield. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of various irrigation systems across extensive farmlands. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of water management principles and practical experience with agricultural irrigation technologies within the Free State region.

• Install, maintain, and repair a variety of irrigation systems, including drip, sprinkler, and center pivot systems.
• Operate and maintain irrigation equipment, pumps, and related components.
• Monitor water usage and distribution, ensuring efficient and effective water application for crops.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose problems within irrigation systems and implement timely solutions.
• Perform regular inspections of irrigation infrastructure to prevent potential failures.
• Collaborate with farm managers to ensure irrigation schedules align with crop needs and weather patterns.

• Proven experience as an Irrigation Technician or in a related field.
• Solid understanding of agricultural water management and irrigation principles.
• Proficiency in using and maintaining various types of irrigation equipment and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics for irrigation systems.
• Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform manual tasks.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail for work in Welkom .
