About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Aircraft Systems Technician to join their maintenance base in Welkom . This role is integral to ensuring the operational readiness and safety of their aircraft fleet. You will be responsible for the installation, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of various aircraft systems, including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and environmental control systems. Working in a hands-on capacity, you will apply your technical expertise to maintain aircraft to the highest standards, contributing to the company's reputation for reliability in the Free State 's aviation sector.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on aircraft electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and environmental control systems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose system malfunctions using specialized test equipment and diagnostic tools.
- Install new aircraft systems and components, ensuring proper integration and functionality.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings to guide repair and installation processes.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and aviation authority requirements.
- Document all maintenance actions, parts used, and time expended accurately in the maintenance logbooks.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Aircraft Systems Technician or similar role.
- Possession of a recognized trade qualification or certification in aircraft maintenance.
- Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting and repairing complex aircraft systems (e.g., avionics, hydraulics, electrical).
- Familiarity with various aircraft types and their specific system configurations.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with a strong focus on safety and quality.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and specialized testing equipment.
