Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, HVAC Tech / Heating Engineer, Installation Technician, Appliance Repair Tech
Preforms preventive maintenance, troubleshoots, installs, services and repairs all make, models, and types of commercial food preparation, storage, and sanitation appliances and equipment, including gas and electric stoves, conventional and convection ovens, walk-in and reach in refrigerators, dishwashers, steam operated, electrical, and gas commercial, and industrial appliances. Connects appliances to power sources and gas lines. Uses mechanic hand tools and electric test equipment.
Follows manufactures’ wiring diagrams to trace electrical circuits to locate shorts, fluid leak, or loose parts. Adjusts timers, calibrates thermostats, and adjusts gas regulators and burner airflow valves. Replaces worn or defective parts, such as switches, pumps, bearings, belts, gears, blowers, and defective wiring. Reassembles appliances, adjusts pulleys and belts, and lubricates moving parts.
- Preforms preventive maintenance, installs, and connects commercial appliances to power sources and gas lines.
- Disassembles and troubleshoots commercial appliances to determine extent of repairs required.
- Orders necessary repair parts and repairs appliances as required.
- Handles and recover refrigerants as required by the EPA and AQMD regulations.
- Ability to identify location of required parts and materials.
- Cross training/sharing of SME within department.
- Communication with customers to identify specific and general requirements and to complete service order paperwork to include documentation of all work performed.
- Participate in employee enhancement programs.
- Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.
- Four (4) years’ experiences in the maintenance and repair of commercial and industrial appliances.
- Knowledgeable in all standard operation procedures within the division and work instructions.
- Participation in all APTIM/HDSS EHS and Quality procedures.
- Ability to use equipment manuals and follow and understand manufacturers’ specifications to include the M.S.D.S.
- Must be able to act professionally in the presence of the public and co-workers.
- Must be able to accurately track time, work orders, and parts using electronic devices.
- The applicant may be required to demonstrate competency in above listed areas prior to employment.
Must possess and maintain a valid California Driver’s License.
Must be EPA certified to Type 1 level in handling and recovery of refrigerants as required by the EPA and AQMD regulations.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
