OverviewThe Department of Mental Health (DMH) state-operated program High Street seeks an experienced, dynamic, and compassionate Clinical Social Worker (AB) to provide direct services in individual and group settings. The role involves evidence‑based clinical treatments, psychiatric care, symptom and wellness management, trauma‑informed care, crisis intervention, relapse prevention, and risk management.
Position: full‑time, 40 hours per week; scheduled 11:00 am – 7:30 pm with days off on Sunday and Monday.
Duties and Responsibilities- Promote and uphold recovery processes, fostering hope, healing, empowerment, and connection.
- Oversee record‑review processes to ensure compliance with DMH/Rehab Option regulations and high‑quality, person‑centered documentation.
- Provide evidence‑based psychoeducation and skills training in psychiatric illness management, symptom reduction, dialectical behavioral support, trauma‑informed interventions, motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, and co‑occurring disorders.
- Use recovery‑oriented, motivational interviewing, harm‑reduction, trauma‑informed, culturally competent, and strength‑based approaches to help clients prepare and communicate strengths and goals.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments for all life areas as part of the client’s Individual Action Plan (IAP) Team; develop clinical formulations guiding IAP development.
- Contribute expertise to staff on clinical, trauma‑informed, psycho‑educational, behavior management, culturally competent services, and clinical consultation.
- Assess client risk and safety, provide crisis intervention, develop Crisis Management Plans, and teach self‑management skills.
- Assist staff in revising plans to implement more effective strategies when an IAP is unsuccessful or when plans are reviewed.
- Role‑model a helping environment welcoming family, friends, and others important to clients.
- Ensure documentation and recordkeeping meet Rehab Option and other regulatory requirements.
- Participate in quality improvement and utilization management activities per CBFS policy.
- Engage clients, establish trusting, collaborative relationships, and assist them in meeting goals.
- Work with clients to complete assessments, develop IAP goals, and handle service/billing documentation promptly.
- Assess clients’ vocational functioning using the Individual Placement Support (IPS) model.
- Provide education and support to family members, gathering input on client strengths and support ideas.
- Perform duties professionally, collaborate across the service system, promote positive relationships with DMH and providers, and pursue professional growth.
- Provide coverage for Supervisor and Program as needed.
- Identify and problem‑solve issues and concerns arising in the Program.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Ability to communicate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Proficiency in Electronic Medical Record systems.
- Bilingual or multilingual fluency, given the population served.
