Responsible and caring individual needed to mentor and provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities at their job sites and provide job development for individuals seeking employment in Napa County and Sonoma County, CA.
- Saint Helena – Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
- Santa Rosa – Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Starting Rate $24.00/hr plus mileage and cell phone reimbursement + bonus incentives for job placements $100–600 (prorated).
Employment Coach Responsibilities- Job development, including resume building, practice interviews, learning new employability skills
- Transportation to and from work, and assistance with accessing their community
- Maintaining employment and productivity
- Discovering their interests, skills, and employment goals
- Creating a meaningful daily schedule by working with their circle of support
- Build a friendly professional and respectful relationship with the person(s) assigned and help them build positive relationships with co‑workers, roommates, and neighbors
- Understands and practices IRI’s mission and embraces person-centered values
- Demonstrates respectful interaction with IRI persons served, stakeholders, and IRI colleagues
- Assumes competence and builds esteem in all interactions with IRI people served
- Implement a normalized community integrated employment focused service
- Develop integrated work schedules and find integrated work settings
- Provide encouragement for meaningful employment activities
- Conduct frequent job site analysis – pre, during, and post-employment
- Implement adaptation strategies and devices based on individual need
- Provide basic healthcare needs as needed
- Implement individual service plan goals and SMART objectives
- Monitor positive behavior strategy system and plans
- Conduct task analysis and demonstrate data-based training decisions
- Complete required documents: eRSP daily care notes, clocking in/out, maintain personnel file
- Attend and complete staff development training and trainings as assigned
- Communicate important updates to supervisor, circle of support, stakeholders
- Dress professionally or appropriately for tasks done with person supported
- Demonstrate proper emergency strategies and report emergencies to Support Manager as needed
- Collaborate with individual served, Lead Employment Coach, Support Manager, and circle of support to complete customized employment activities
- Contact prospective employers and facilitate job application for participants
- Shadow and train other coaches with specific individuals you support
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Support Manager, Director of Services, and CEO
- Two years of college or equivalent experience preferred but not required
- Job development and on-the-job support experience preferred but not required
- Experience supporting people with disabilities, preferably in community integrated settings
- Strong organization, communication, and writing skills; proficient in computers and online platforms
- Positive behavior support training experience preferred
- Commitment to full inclusion of all persons with disabilities
- Commitment to integrated employment for all persons with disabilities
- Commitment to self-advocacy and person-centered planning
- Flexible availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as necessary
- May sit, stand, and walk for varying periods; bend and stoop, climb stairs, reach, balance, push, pull, and move throughout office or community settings
- May occasionally lift or carry items up to 10 pounds
- Requires use of both hands for typing, writing, and using computers/mobile devices
- Requires sufficient visual and hearing capacity to perform essential job functions and communicate effectively
- Must drive an automobile to meet job responsibilities
- May use smartphones and other mobile devices in accordance with cell phone policy
