Position: SUPV METEOROLOGICAL TECHNICIAN with Security Clearance
Location: March Air Force Base

Duties
* Performs first level supervisory personnel management responsibilities
* Plans, organizes, directs, and oversees program and resource management activities
* Participates in, performs, and/or directs special studies/projects that impact the unit, squadron, and/or serviced organizations and agencies
* Prepares and delivers oral presentations such as briefings, consultations, and strategy sessions with other staff service functions and activities to secure cooperation, resolve controversial matters, and convey information relative to proposed changes in assignments Requirements Conditions of employment

* This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program
* May be required to work rotating shifts, irregular hours, and be subject to recall to support unscheduled weather requirements at any time.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, work requires access to classified information.
* Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft. Work may include travel within and outside the continental United States (CONUS).
* Pre-employment Physical is required-Normal color vision is required.
* Key position
- Duties of this position are essential to the accomplishment of wartime/contingency operations. Incumbent of key positions must be removed from their military recall status if alternatives for (cont'd)
* filling of the position during an emergency are not available, IAW AFI 36-507
* Advance in hire may be authorized if there is demonstrable proof provided on your resume
* Leave accrual may be authorized upon request
* Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.

EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-10, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes measuring meteorological phenomena with scientific equipment and instrumentation;
Observing and recording atmospheric characteristics, i.e., temperature, air movement, visibility, pressure, air density, cloud types;
Decoding, plotting, and systematically recording data related to the physical characteristics of the atmosphere, i.e., charts, diagrams, cross sections;
Collecting, analyzing, interpreting, adjusting, and verifying atmospheric and other meteorological data to confirm and improve accuracy and efficacy. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
