Independent Living Services Coach / Direct Support Professional (DSP) – ILS
Harvest Healthcare Solutions is a healthcare and human services organization committed to providing person-centered support that promotes independence, dignity, choice, and community inclusion.
We are seeking experienced Independent Living Services Coach / Direct Support Professionals (DSP) – ILS to support adults with developmental disabilities in achieving greater independence and reaching the goals identified in their Individual Program Plan (IPP).
We are actively looking for ILS Professionals in the Sacramento, El Dorado, Yolo and Placer County areas.
Position Summary
The ILS Professional provides individualized, non-medical support to adults with developmental disabilities in their homes and communities. The goal of the position is to help individuals develop and maintain practical skills that promote independence, self-sufficiency, safety, community participation, and quality of life.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience working in a supporting role with adults with developmental disabilities and understand the importance of person-centered services.
Pay Rate: $19 -$20 per hour (DOE)

Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized Independent Living Services based on the individual's IPP and authorized service plan.
- Support adults with developmental disabilities in developing and maintaining independent living skills.
- Assist individuals with daily living and community-based skills, as appropriate to their authorized services.
- Teach and reinforce skills related to:
- Household organization and basic home management
- Meal planning and basic food preparation
- Personal organization and scheduling
- Money management and budgeting skills
- Shopping and community navigation
- Transportation and travel training
- Communication and self-advocacy
- Safety awareness
- Social and community participation
- Appropriate use of community resources
- Encourage individuals to make choices and participate actively in their own goals.
- Promote dignity, independence, self-determination, and personal choice.
- Provide support without unnecessarily doing tasks the individual can learn to perform independently.
- Maintain professional boundaries and respect individual rights and confidentiality.
- Communicate appropriately with families, Regional Center representatives, supervisors, and other members of the individual's support team, as permitted.
- Complete required service documentation, progress notes, time records, and other required documentation accurately and timely.
- Report incidents, safety concerns, changes in condition, or significant issues according to company and Regional Center requirements.
- Follow Harvest Healthcare Solutions policies, Regional Center requirements, and applicable California regulations.
- Maintain a safe, respectful, inclusive, and supportive environment.
Minimum Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a supporting role working with adults with developmental disabilities.
- Experience providing direct support, independent living assistance, community integration, behavioral support, caregiving, DSP services, ILS, or related human services.
- Ability to work independently while following an individual's authorized service plan.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dependable, patient, compassionate, and respectful approach.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
- Reliable transportation for community-based services, when required.
- Ability to complete electronic documentation and service notes.
Preferred:
- Previous Independent Living Services (ILS) experience preferred.
