Secret-Cleared Software Systems Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Secret-Cleared Software Systems Engineer in Northridge, CA for a 5-month onsite contract role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The Software Systems Engineer will support advanced weapons software systems by defining software requirements and decomposing subsystem specifications into software-level requirements. This role includes software architecture modeling, requirements analysis, integration, verification, validation, and test support for embedded software systems. The position requires experience with systems engineering tools, embedded software, software/hardware integration, and an active Secret clearance.

Required Skills

• U.S. citizenship required.

• Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance adjudicated within the past 5 years.

• Experience with systems engineering tools such as DOORS and Cameo.

• Experience with embedded software.

• Ability to read code and verify implementation against software requirements specifications.

• Experience with system, subsystem, software, and hardware integration, test, and verification.

• Experience in the defense industry.

• Experience designing in an aerospace environment.

• Experience with requirements analysis, requirements allocation, system design, software design, software implementation, software testing, system integration, field integration testing, and requirements verification.

• Experience using Cameo Enterprise Architecture for software or systems architecture.

• Experience developing use cases, activity diagrams, and sequence diagrams.

• Familiarity with writing software test plans and test descriptions.

• Ability to run software or systems tests.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with multiple aerospace and defense technologies such as sensors, navigation aids, guidance electronics, controls, propulsion, structures, or platforms.

• Technical knowledge in one or more military mission areas, including Air, Land, Sea, Space, or Cyber.

• Experience assessing legacy system architecture and evaluating future technology development opportunities.

What You’ll Do

• Translate system and subsystem-level software requirements into software-level requirements for each CSCI.

• Define software requirements and functionally decompose subsystem specifications.

• Work with system and software engineers to develop software architecture models.

• Support verification and validation of software products.

• Ensure integrated CSCIs function as intended.

• Support software and systems architecture development using behavioral, structural, and analytical modeling.

• Develop use cases, activity diagrams, and sequence diagrams.

• Support software test planning, test descriptions, and test execution.

• Support system integration, field integration testing, and requirements verification.

Work Schedule / Shift

• 9/80A schedule.

Pay

• $97.58 per hour
