Under the supervision of the Executive Director of Athletics, the Aquatics Director will manage and coordinate all Franklin Community Schools aquatics facilities usage while maintaining, communicating, and ensuring adherence to the operating policies and procedures, and special/emergency procedures to protect the patrons and facilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Act as the lead CPO for the school district. Complete all testing and operating functions associated with the middle school and high school pools in accordance with the State and County Health Departments.
- Maintain a list of certified lifeguards, and create training and certification opportunities to build a pool of lifeguards.
- Schedule lifeguards for all pool activities and prepare payment claim forms for lifeguards.
- Work as a coach for the FCS high school or middle school programs.
- Communicate regularly with patrons, handle all patron questions and concerns, and oversee program registrations.
- Work with the local swim club, high school, and middle school teams to organize volunteers; assign responsibilities, establish schedules, train, and evaluate the performance of all facility volunteers including lifeguards.
- Maintain, communicate, and ensure adherence to the operating policies and procedures, and special/emergency procedures to protect the patrons and its facility.
- Assist in pool and timing system set up and operations for meets hosted at Franklin Community High School including any middle school, high school, and club events. This includes events from outside organizations when applicable.
- Establish and communicate facility and program schedules to maximize the use and availability of the pool including the FCS Athletic Departments, FRST Swim Club, Franklin College, and P.E. Department (both MS & HS).
- Coordinate pool repair and maintenance, and maintain accurate and appropriate inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Coordinate billings and fees and provide recommendations to enhance the financial standing of facilities while maintaining quality programs and safety standards.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of aquatic facility management through active participation in the appropriate professional organizations and ongoing training.
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Athletic Director.

- Bachelor's Degree in a related field;
Teaching license preferred or ability to obtain. - Nationally Certified Pool Operator
- Water Safety Instructor Certification

- Franklin Community Schools HS or MS Swim Coach
- Thorough knowledge of pool management and safety requirements.
- Strong interpersonal skills in order to address difficult situations; such as patron complaints and disciplinary action, program funding, and personnel issues.
- Must develop ongoing working relationships with a variety of patrons, community agencies, and school administration.
- General business administration knowledge and experience in order to prepare appropriate budgets, assess program effectiveness, and write proposals.
