Nutrition Services Associate – Elementary (4.5 hours/day)

• Comply with food service manager’s instructions on production, preparation, and service of food.
• Account for meals (reimbursement and a la carte sales) per department standards.
• Clean up kitchen, serving area, cafeteria and dishroom following manager’s instructions.
• Maintain food safety standards during handling, preparation, storage, and service.
• Operate computerized point‑of‑sale equipment to process students during breakfast and lunch lines.
• Work efficiently and cooperate with other employees.
• Attend job‑related training classes and workshops.
• Interact with students positively and professionally.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school graduate or GED.
• Basic arithmetic, reading, and writing skills.
• Ability to safely lift up to 40 pounds, stand on a hard surface for 3‑6 hours, and perform bending, twisting, repetitive motions.
• Experience in institutional food service operations and/or school food service is helpful.
• Completion of Serve Safe course and passing the exam with ≥70% accuracy within 1 year of hire date.
• Knowledge of point‑of‑sale experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative to complete job duties within the contracted hours.
• Proficiency in managing time efficiently.
• Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally, ethnically, racially, and socioeconomically diverse school community.

Hourly rate: $20.23 – $22.74 (based on 2025‑26 contract).
