General Description
The Operational Specialist II classification is distinguished from the Operational Specialist I job class by the performance of bus driving duties and activities on as regular basis.
These duties are in addition to the cleaning, custodial, maintenance and groundskeeping functions also performed. Under general supervision receives technical and functional supervision from the Director of Maintenance, Operations, and Transportation or his/her designee.
To operate a school bus over designated routes in the transport of students in a safe and timely manner; to pick-up and deliver students to and from school and other scheduled and special excursions; to perform a variety of cleaning and custodial functions at assigned District site(s); to perform routine groundskeeping and maintenance duties; to maintain safe and sanitary facilities and related sites as assigned;
and to function as a cooperative and productive team member.
To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to learn, play, and develop.
- Operate a school bus over designated routes in the transport of students in a safe and timely manner.

- School Bus Driver Certificate Required
- Health and Welfare Benefit Package: $10,520.00 annually
- Position will in Grounds-YHS, and Driving a Bus at YHS
- Split Shift with 5% differential in additional pay
- YUSD provides all training and licensures while on the job
- If not licensed at time of hire, then starting pay will reflect one range lower
- 8 hours daily AM Shift, Monday through Friday
- TB test required
- Livescan Clearance required
- Must pass district proficiency test
- Pre-employment physical and Drug Screen
