Part Time AZ Local Driver; Trenton

The Erb Group is one of North America’s largest privately-owned refrigerated transportation providers. We specialize in the timely, protected distribution of temperature-controlled perishable goods across Canada and the U.S.

Shift: Monday - Friday with some weekend work.

Compensation: $27.59/hr.

Valid AZ/Class 1 license required. Drive to various locations to deliver and/or pick up product. Move freight between terminal locations. Fill out all required paperwork. Represent Erb Transport professionally and give the best customer service possible.

• Drive safely in all types of road and weather conditions and temperatures.
• Deliver freight as per schedule and company policy.
• Communicate with dispatch according to department procedures regarding pickups, deliveries or inquiries.
• Perform a required pre-trip inspection ensuring equipment is in secure working order.
• Communicate with shop when maintenance is required.
• Carry out all required paperwork according to company policy.
• Comply with all hours of service and any other regulations for all jurisdictions operated in.
• Ensure freight is properly identified / labelled.
• Load and unload product in a safe, accurate and professional manner.
• Operate the onboard telematic device including the electronic log and communication system for communication with dispatch.
• Attend Driver Safety meetings.
• All other duties as required.

• Minimum 1 year verifiable driving experience on AZ/Class 1 license.
• Meet licensing requirements for the specific job opening.
• Pass a pre-employment drug test and health survey.
• Provide CVOR, Driver abstract and a copy of the driver’s license at time of interview.
• Employment reference check will be completed.
• Criminal record check required.
• Required to wear PPE (provided by The Erb Group).

The Erb Group is a 24/7 operation, with runs departing daily. Departure times will vary and will be determined by H.O.S. regulations. There is no set end time on any given day and work can be up to and including the HOS regulations. Drivers can sign up for bid runs when posted, if interested, and will be awarded on a seniority basis.

Drivers not on a bid run will be considered an Open Board Driver. Open board drivers are not assigned to a particular dedicated run. These drivers are assigned to runs as dispatched.

AZ Local Drivers:

• Some slip seating may be required.
• May be required to be gone overnight on occasion, but typically makes it home at the end of each shift.
• Will be required to operate DZ units.
