Overview

Transdev in San Francisco, CA is hiring a Window Dispatcher. The Window Dispatcher oversees road service through communication with Operators and provides customer support to the clients. They assist in driver sign‑in and shift end, coordinating vehicle and other equipment assignments in accordance with contractual obligations and company policies and procedures. Mandatory duties include self‑report mandatory self‑report, and coordinations with Dispatch, Maintenance, and Operations for timely service.

Pay

& Benefits

Hourly pay: $23.55 – $24.25 (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement Payscale). Starting at $23.55, progressing to $24.25 over one year.

Responsibilities
  • Provides manifests to drivers, assigns vehicles, radios, and other equipment
  • Accurately records driver shift start and end through VDS, Trapeze, or designated programs
  • Coordinates vehicle availability with maintenance, road supervisors, and operations
  • Monitors standby drivers and coordinates with Dispatch for assignments; releases drivers when not required
  • Coordinates with Dispatch to fill open runs or reassign drivers to ensure timely service
  • Maintains records, logs, and schedules of driver assignments and reporting status
  • Signs drivers out at the end of their shifts; accounts for all equipment issued, reviews manifest, and prepares reports as required
  • Prepares accurate reports of all shift activities upon request
  • Follows company rules and management instructions
  • Adheres to ADA regulations
  • Handles passengers’ personal property per Lost and Found procedures
  • Communicates with Dispatch, Scheduling, Reservations, and Operations to ensure service provision
  • Maintains confidentiality of passenger information
  • Performs trip and/or VDS editing if assigned
  • Provides dispatch clerical support as relief
  • Other duties as required
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED;
    Technical Degree preferred
  • Problem‑solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed
  • Organizational skill for efficient scheduling and routing, with the ability to adapt to changes
  • Map reading and comprehension
  • Understanding of transit system rules, regulations, policies, phases, and routes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Clear speech and pleasant phone demeanor
  • Multi‑line phone system proficiency and multitasking ability
  • Professional interaction with internal and external customers across all levels and diverse groups
Physical Requirements
  • Work shifts or flexible schedules as required
  • Majority of work performed indoors in air‑conditioned or well‑ventilated facilities
  • Office or cubicle environment with computer and telephone
  • Long periods of sitting, typing, or computer screen use
