Essential Responsibilities

  • Move goods packed on pallets or in crates around the storage facility according to storage requirements, shelf‑life regulations, and staging procedures.
  • Stack goods in the correct storage bays following inventory control instructions.
  • Ensure loads are properly secured, including performing material‑handling procedures to correctly stack, palletize, ship, and move material.
  • Stack and store empty pallets, crates, and other packaging materials.
  • Perform daily equipment checks such as recharging the truck’s battery and lubricating equipment.
  • Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them to assigned locations.
  • Dispose of waste materials and recyclables using machine hoppers, roll‑offs, and other required equipment.
  • Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment.
  • Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
  • Perform a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment’s storage plan.
  • Rearrange and take inventory of stored materials, examine stored materials, and report deterioration and damage.
  • Remove material from storage and prepare it for shipment.
  • Operate a manually controlled gasoline, electric, or liquid‑propane gas‑powered forklift to transport goods and materials of all kinds within a warehouse.
  • Use barcode wands, labeling equipment, laser‑scanning equipment, and/or computer terminals as required.
  • Operate tools and equipment approved by management.
  • Observe and follow all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
  • Perform housekeeping and maintenance duties as needed to ensure workspace upkeep.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned, requested, or related unless otherwise excluded by this description or the established collective‑bargaining agreement.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Twelve months of job‑related experience and/or training.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a government general‑purpose vehicle.
  • Ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
  • Must speak, read, and understand English.
  • Must pass a pre‑employment physical examination and urinary analysis.
  • Availability for any shift, including weekends and other hours as required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
  • U.S. citizenship required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands

Typical warehouse environment with no unusual hazards; frequent lifting up to 20‑60 pounds, kneeling, standing, walking, and routine sitting; constant use of speech/hearing for communication; constant mental alertness required; must possess planning and organizing skills and be able to work under deadlines.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly rate: $26.49 (as set by the CBA).

  • Medical, dental, AD&D, vision, life insurance, long‑term disability, employee assistance program, and short‑term disability.
  • Paid vacation: biweekly accrual of 144 hours for 0–5 years, 194 hours for 5–10 years, 224 hours for 10–15 years, and 264 hours for more than 15 years of service.

  • Paid holidays (prorated based on hire date).
Other Responsibilities
  • Enforce safety culture: complete all training requirements, participate in emergency response tasks, and serve on safety committees and teams.
  • Adhere to the Amentum Quality Policy and carry out job activities in compliance with applicable Quality System documents and customer contracts.
  • Read, understand, and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures, and policies pertaining to the employee’s job.
