Kalman & Company, Inc. is seeking Warehouse Specialists in support of Marine Corps Logistics Command in San Diego, CA. This position falls under the Department of Labor’s Service Contract Act (SCA).
Base pay: $21.98/hr.
Responsibilities- Issue, receive, store, reconstitute, inventory, and ship bulk and individual gear and equipment in support of the Marine Corps Consolidated Storage Program (CSP).
- Receive and unpack shipments promptly and accurately.
- Validate that shipment quantities match shipping documentation.
- Accurately store equipment in appropriate bins/locations within the warehouse.
- Accurately pack and ship equipment.
- Pick customer orders.
- Process customer returns.
- Track inventory using the warehouse management system.
- Load and unload equipment as needed.
- Organize inventory as outlined in the warehouse inventory procedures.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- US citizenship required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in performing warehouse duties such as packing, shipping, receiving, filling customer orders, picking equipment from warehouse shelves, checking packed equipment against orders for accuracy, and keeping track of inventory and shipments.
- Must be able to pass a National Agency Check (NAC) investigation to obtain base access and DoD computer system access.
- Detail-oriented with good time-management skills and ability to manage workload with minimal oversight.
- Understanding of inventory control systems.
- Ability to meet physical requirements, such as lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and standing for long periods of time.
- Ability to operate a variety of tools, such as stretch wrap and banding equipment.
- Experience using warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Ability to obtain forklift safety certification.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements.
- Proven knowledge of using a Warehouse Management System for inventory management and control.
- Proven knowledge of managing workload for multiple warehouse operations.
- Moderate to loud sound levels, extensive outdoor weather conditions and routine tasks inherent to the position.
- Ability to stand and walk one-third to two-thirds of the time; ability to talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel; close vision; color vision; depth perception and ability to correct and adjust focus.
- Experience as a military Supply occupational specialty preferred.
- USMC MOS of 3043 or 3051, Army MOS 92Y, Air Force AFSC 2S051, and Navy Logistics Specialist (LS).
