Job Description
The Sr. Distribution Operations Manager leads the overall logistical movement and control of materials, including inbound, outbound, inter‑plant, production supply, inventory management, warehouse operations and transportation. The role is responsible for expense control, warehouse operational KPI’s, and serves as process owner and subject matter expert for warehouse/shipping and inventory.
Key Responsibilities- Manage day‑to‑day execution of material movement between the warehouse and production floor, and finished goods shipping to customers and regions.
- Lead optimization and continuous improvement projects for the warehouse using data analytics, advanced software, change management, and communication tools.
- Drive implementation of automated warehouse technologies such as VLM/ASRS and automated material delivery systems.
- Partner with Global Supply Chain/Purchasing to formulate the Plan for Every Part (PFEP), covering purchasing, planning, warehousing, and control of materials from forecasting to finished product delivery.
- Maintain transactional integrity and controls to ensure high‑performance supply‑chain metrics and minimized risk.
- Implement policies, procedures, and team structures that optimize the warehousing function and support global supply‑chain objectives.
- Lead key projects or initiatives supporting process transformation, inventory optimization, continuous improvement, and other warehouse‑management initiatives.
- Manage, train, develop, and motivate a team of shipping/warehouse associates, providing coaching, performance measurement, and compliance oversight.
- Develop and enforce inventory control programs and financial compliance.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with manufacturing, purchasing, and supply‑chain teams to close operational gaps.
- Participate in periodic updates and improvements of procedures, instructions, and tools related to warehouse activity improvement.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, regulatory, ISO guidelines, and company policies.
- BA/BS degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
- 8–10 years of experience in logistics management, preferably in a regulated medical‑device environment.
- Advanced experience with SAP and other warehouse‑management systems.
- Proficiency in inventory control strategies, shipping, receiving, and warehouse processes.
- Experience implementing warehouse‑management or barcoding systems.
- Strong data‑analytics skills using tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or Qlik View.
- Excel and Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
- Demonstrated experience leading lean warehouse operations and continuous‑improvement projects.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
