Program Summary

The Fort Irwin National Training Center is a major training area for the United States military and is located in the Mojave Desert in northern San Bernardino County, California. K provides maintenance and logistics services to customers at the National Training Center in Fort Irwin, California to support the U.S. Army building brigade combat team readiness with ten annual training rotations.

Job Summary

The Warehouse Foreman supervises warehouse employees during the issue, receipt, turn‑in, and shipment of parts and materials in support of customer activities. Responsible for warehouse layout planning, establishment of document files, preparation of required documents and reports. Provides leadership, technical guidance, training, and oversight to ensure warehouse operations are executed in compliance with contract requirements, storage procedures, inventory accountability standards, and applicable policies and regulations.

Roles And Responsibilities
  • Oversee the monthly cyclic inventory and 100% inventory of the Stock Record Account (SRA) as assigned.
  • Research, investigate, and reconcile discrepancies and report those that cannot be resolved at lower levels.
  • Complete and review a daily checklist to ensure key tasks are accomplished to contract performance standards by section employees.
  • Oversee transfers, adjustments, turn‑ins, issues, receipts, and controls of all materials assigned to the warehouse to ensure compliance with storage procedures, including Care of Supplies in Storage (COSIS).
  • Ensure proper planning, receipt, storage, and issue of all project material and control of project‑furnished small tools and third‑party rentals.
  • Supervise and review work activities for accuracy and effectiveness within the function.
  • Provide leadership to create the organizational structure and processes required to fully execute service requirements and ensure execution of services.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to assigned personnel.
  • Monitor and review work performed.
  • Evaluate service execution for compliance with contract requirements, schedules, cost budgets, and quality standards.
  • Advise the team on status, issues, impacts, risks, and cost influence factors related to the scope of work.
  • Inform team members of updates to safety rules and procedures.
  • Perform complex assignments and fulfill broad responsibilities where required outcomes are defined, but methods and procedures may vary based on judgment or precedent.
  • Conduct quality self‑audits to ensure the SSA operates in accordance with local policies and procedures contained in AR 710‑2 and AR 735‑5.
  • Supervise union employees on a daily basis.
  • Conduct performance counseling.
  • Make recommendations for discipline or termination of employment.
  • Participate in the K  selection and retention process.
Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, And Certifications)
  • Comprehensive and supervisory knowledge of the Global Combat Support System‑Army (GCSS‑Army) for all warehouse functions.
  • Field of expertise:
    General Foreman Level Supply Support Activity and Military warehouse GCSS‑Army.
  • Must be able to complete the Common Core and Supply Support Activity business area of the GCSS‑Army Training and Certification System (GTRAC) within 30 days of hire date.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience and 5 years of experience in supply activity functions specializing in warehouse operations.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently.
  • Must have a valid State Driver's License.
  • Must possess a valid State Real .
  • Must be able to work under stressful circumstances and meet short suspense dates.
