Responsibilities
  • Serve as the outsourced Controller/CFO for multiple non‑profit clients.
  • Transform nonprofit client financial departments to help them meet their mission.
  • Provide financial reporting for management and board decision‑making, including presentations.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to accounting, operations, internal controls, and compliance policies and procedures.
  • Perform transactional activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable (revenue recognition and billing), payroll, general accounting, reconciliations, month‑end close, and maintain work papers.
  • Conduct analysis and data visualization, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Manage grant reporting, allocations, and funder reporting.
  • Prepare for and manage annual audits.
  • Provide client and staff training opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Passionate about working in or supporting nonprofit organizations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (or related field).
  • 5–7+ years of accounting experience.
  • Experience working remotely is preferred.
  • Ability to manage and lead multiple clients, work independently, and respond promptly.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with multiple general ledger packages, especially Quick Books, and electronic bill pay systems.
  • Non‑profit accounting, public accounting, and/or consulting experience is a plus.
  • CPA certification is a plus.
  • English/Spanish bilingualism is a plus.

  • For full‑time positions:
    • 4 weeks paid time off (typically 100 hours paid vacation) with eligibility for additional vacation based on tenure and a minimum 40 hours of sick time.

Starting annual base salary is $90,000 to $125,000 based on a 35‑hour work week for this non‑exempt position. Total compensation may increase with overtime pay and eligibility for various bonuses. A professional development reimbursement and technology stipend are also provided annually. Base salary offers may vary based on education, experience, certifications, internal salary ranges, geographic location, and other business needs.
