Job Description
Professional level sales position capable of supporting advanced functions on the commercial side of the business. The role is responsible for profitable growth of the commercial business via customer retention and growth. It partners with the GM to manage Team Members, demands expert knowledge of automotive systems and parts, and allows sourcing from multiple channels including special order, FDO, and second source.
The position includes directing drivers to ensure timely and accurate delivery. This is a full‑time role that offers sales commission based on individual or store performance.
- Maintain commercial customer relationships
- Provide GAS2 selling experience to commercial customers
- Achieve personal/store sales goals and service objectives
- Provide day‑to‑day supervisory support for Team Members
- Collaborate with GM on coaching and developmental needs for Team Members
- Dispatch drivers ensuring delivery standards are achieved
- Maintain commercial stocking programs
- Build and maintain a network of second‑source suppliers
- Maintain core bank and commercial returns
- Maintain commercial credit accounts
- Partner with GM to ensure proper driver coverage
- Friendly communication
- Ability to locate and stock parts
- Safety knowledge and skills
- Operating inventory systems and store equipment
- Parts and automotive system knowledge skills
- Operating POS and parts lookup systems
- ASE P2 certified or ASE ready equivalent
- Advanced solution, project, and product quality recommendation ability
- Advanced selling skills for commercial customers
- Ability to multi‑task and remain organized
Job Skills
- Working knowledge of automotive systems; diagnostic ability for engine, suspension, brakes, electronics, exhaust, etc.
- English fluency;
Spanish a plus; effective communication with customers, peers, and management - Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals; write simple correspondence
- Interpret instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
- Successfully complete the Parts Knowledge Assessment
- Use accurate basic math: add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel required)
- Strong organizational skills
- Understand commercial profitability concepts, including market opportunities and customer prioritization
- Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed
- Minimum 3 years of prior automotive parts experience (preferred)
- Proven sales ability with past experience fulfilling customer transactions
- Formal or informal experience leading teams, supervising daily tasks, and working together to achieve goals
- High school diploma or GED
- ASE Certification preferred, but not required
The job requires walking or standing for most of the shift, talking, hearing, using hands to handle or feel, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Frequent lifting and moving up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Work EnvironmentPrimarily indoor work with occasional outdoor exposure. Work is performed near moving mechanical parts, precarious heights, toxic chemicals, and electrical risks; vibration and moderate noise levels are common.
Compensation18.15 USD per hour – 19.96 USD per hour
