Line Of Business: Personal & Commercial Banking
Job DescriptionThe Small Business Banker II proactively deepens relationships with existing Small Business customers within a specified territory. The role ensures equal access to banking products and services across all communities, including businesses in low‑to‑moderate income areas and minority communities. The Banker initiates contact with new Small Business customers, conducts a customer assessment within 30 days of account opening, and assigns the customer to the appropriate TD Relationship Manager based on assessment results.
Depth& Scope
- Manages larger and more complex territory
- Calls all new Small Business customers who open accounts in partner stores and completes a customer assessment
- Calls assigned SB customers, meets with them as necessary to deepen relationship, manage customer service issues, and identify product needs
- Generates sales and referrals to all business partners in the bank to help meet the comprehensive financial needs of Small Businesses (RMLM, Merchant, Commercial, Treasury Management, Credit Card, Retail, Wealth)
- Assigns SB customers to proper TD Relationship Manager based on customer parameters
- Directly manages a group of Store loan portfolios within the Front End Fulfillment process, responsible for origination, structuring, and closing of all non‑RMLM Small Business loan requests
- Develops Small Business product expertise to properly vet potential product fits for customers
- Works with Stores and Commercial Bank to ensure superior customer service as measured by CWI
- Manages portfolio of all loans in the Front End Fulfillment process, including relationship checkups and the renewal process
- Contributes toward the achievement of Small Business Banking sales and business development objectives by meeting or exceeding individual sales goals
- Possesses comprehensive knowledge of the local market, competitive offers, and economic trends
- Works closely with the Small Business Credit Center and SBB product groups to ensure satisfactory customer response times for new credit applications
- Reviews all reports, including pipelines and dashboards, to ensure accurate and complete reporting, evaluating performance weekly
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- 7+ Years of related experience
- Four years of calling and lending or credit support related experience at the Small Business level
- Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed marketing goals
- Proven ability to understand and analyze personal and business financial statements
