Position: Instructor in Graphic Arts, Initial Focus: 3D Fundamentals and Motion Graphics (Part-Time Pool)

What You’ll Do

Under the general direction of a dean, an Instructor (Non‑Contact/Temporary) provides comprehensive classroom instruction to students from diverse backgrounds for the purpose of facilitating the attainment of their academic or vocational objectives. In accordance with the provisions of Education Code sections 87482.5, Instructors (Non‑Contract/Temporary) may be employed up to 67% of a full‑time assignment.

The initial focus of this teaching assignment will be in the area of Motion Graphics, which falls under the instructional discipline of Graphic Arts.

This applicant pool will be used to fill a part‑time Instructor in Graphic Arts, Initial Focus:
Motion Graphics vacancy at Moorpark College for the Fall 2026 semester. If you have applied to previous pools in this discipline, you will need to re‑apply to this pool to continue to be considered.

Representative Duties
  • Provide academic instruction to students through lecture, lab, or performance courses; assess and develop cognitive abilities, communication skills, and higher‑order thinking skills.
  • Advise and instruct students regarding programs of study, other institutions of higher education, lifelong learning resources, and effective study skills.
  • Observe and evaluate student performance in meeting course objectives and learning outcomes through assignments, projects, discussions, and examinations.
  • Plan and organize instruction according to approved course outlines and student learning outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records of course enrollment, attendance, academic progress, curriculum, and learning outcomes; prepare and submit reports.
  • Evaluate and select instructional materials such as textbooks, manuals, software, and tools in collaboration with discipline faculty.
  • Revise and update course content and materials of instruction in accordance with new theory, application, and industry developments.
  • Update syllabi and collaborate with faculty on measurable student performance indicators.
  • May participate in curriculum and program development and provide input into student learning outcomes.
  • May attend and participate on committees, meetings, and articulation activities.
  • May provide work direction to others and perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Any Bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of professional experience, or any Associate’s degree and six years of professional experience, or the equivalency of the above.
  • Professional experience must be directly related to the faculty member’s teaching assignment and may include teaching experience.
  • All coursework must be from a recognized accredited college or university.
  • Possession of a valid California Community College Teaching Credential appropriate to the discipline is also acceptable.
Equivalency

The District may grant equivalency for a bachelor’s or associate degree based on the following criteria:

  • 120 semester units and two years of full‑time equivalent professional experience.
  • 60 semester units and six years of full‑time equivalent professional experience, with recent knowledge within three years.
