and Position

The History Department is seeking qualified applicants for a lecturer faculty pool. We are seeking qualified part-time instructors to teach the following courses, pending enrollment: U.S. History to 1877 and U.S. History Since 1877. The faculty member is expected to teach using varied modalities, including in-person and online.

Qualifications
  • M.A. in History or equivalent/related field
  • Demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the college or university level
  • Appropriate training in United States History to teach undergraduate courses
  • Commitment to student-centered, inclusive pedagogy that supports diverse learners
  • Ability to engage with a broad student population and provide mentorship to support student academic success
Preferred Qualifications
  • Evidence of ability to teach in varied modalities (face-to-face, online asynchronous, or hybrid) to meet department needs
  • PhD in History or equivalent/related field
Responsibilities

To teach assigned classes and carry out related duties, such as holding office hours, grading, planning lessons, and communicating with students outside of scheduled class time.

Final date to receive applications

Screening of applications will begin 05/21/26. Priority will be given to applicants who submit applications before the screening deadline; however, the position will remain open until filled.

  • A statement describing your experience mentoring students and supporting their academic and professional growth

In later phases of the search process, applicants may be requested to provide verification of terminal degrees, licenses and certificates.

Salary and Benefits
