Instructor in Drama​/Theater Arts; Part-Time Pool

Overview

We are accepting applications on an ongoing basis for part‑time instructors in this discipline at Moorpark, Oxnard, or Ventura Colleges. The applications will be kept on file for Summer 2026, Fall 2026, and Spring 2027.

• Provide comprehensive classroom instruction including lectures, labs, and performance courses.
• Advise students on programs, resources, and study skills.
• Assess and evaluate student learning through assignments, projects, discussions, and examinations, and provide timely feedback.
• Plan and organize instruction according to approved course outlines aligned with department, college, and district goals.
• Maintain accurate records of enrollment, attendance, progress, and submit related reports.
• Evaluate and select instructional materials and collaborate with faculty on updates.
• Revise and update course content in response to new theory, application, and industry developments.
• Attend meetings, committees, and undertake related duties as assigned.

• Approved minimum qualifications for the discipline as defined by the California Community Colleges Board of Governors.
• Master’s or Master of Fine Arts in drama/theater arts/performance or Bachelor’s or BFA in drama/theater arts/performance AND Master’s in comparative literature, English, communication studies, speech, literature, or humanities; or equivalent credit.
• Alternatively, possession of a valid California Community College Teaching Credential appropriate to the discipline.
• All coursework must be from an accredited college or university.

Part‑time faculty with classroom assignments are paid between $2,408 and $3,108 per semester per 10% load.
