Salary: Part‑time faculty classroom assignments are paid between $2,007 and $3,108 per semester per 10% load. Non‑classroom assignments are paid between $2,678 and $4,146 per semester per 10% load.

What You'll DoThe Department of Performing Arts seeks an accomplished performing artist and educator to teach face‑to‑face courses in acting and theatre. Candidates should have a professional background in stage, film or television, and a comprehensive understanding of acting for stage and/or camera.
Duties include:
- Provide academic instruction to students through lectures, labs, and performance courses.
- Assess and develop cognitive, communication and higher‑order thinking skills through assignments and activities.
- Advise and instruct students regarding programs of study and study skills.
- Observe and evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.
- Plan and organize instruction according to course outlines and learning outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of enrollment, attendance, academic progress, curriculum and outcomes.
- Evaluate and select instructional materials such as textbooks and software.
- Revise and update course content in line with new theory and industry developments.
- Update syllabi and collaborate with faculty on performance indicators.
- Participate in curriculum and program development.
- Attend departmental, division, campus and district meetings.
- Provide direction to others when required.
Applicants must possess the minimum qualifications approved by the California Community Colleges Board of Governors:
- Master’s or Master of Fine Arts in drama, theatre or performance, or Bachelor’s/BFA in drama, theatre or performance with a Master’s in comparative literature, English, communication studies, speech, literature or humanities.
- or a valid California Community College Teaching Credential.
All coursework must be from a recognized accredited institution. Equivalency review may be available for candidates with comparable qualifications.
