Instructor in Fire Technology (Part-Time Pool)
Venue:
Ventura County Community College District, Oxnard College (Oxnard, CA). Part‑time faculty – position part of a future instructors pool for Spring 2026, Summer 2026, and Fall 2026 semesters.
- Provide academic instruction via lecture, lab, or performance courses; assess and develop student abilities through appropriate assignments and activities.
- Advise and instruct students regarding programs of study, lifelong learning resources, and effective study skills; refer students to support services.
- Observe and evaluate student performance in meeting course objectives and learning outcomes; provide timely feedback.
- Plan and organize instruction according to approved course outlines and student learning outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of enrollment, attendance, progress; prepare and submit data and reports.
- Evaluate and select instructional materials in collaboration with faculty; order materials per bookstore procedure.
- Revise and update course content and instructional materials in line with new theory and industry developments.
- Update syllabi; collaborate with faculty on performance indicators.
- Participate in curriculum and program development, committee work, and related activities.
- Provide work direction to others and perform related duties as assigned.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience; or an associate degree and six years of professional experience; or an equivalent credential; or a California Community College credential.
- Professional experience required for candidates with a master’s degree, directly related to the teaching assignment.
- All coursework must be from a recognized accredited institution.
Part‑time faculty with classroom assignments: $2,007 – $3,109 per semester (10% load). Non‑classroom assignments: $2,678 – $4,146 per semester (10% load). Salaries governed by collective bargaining agreement.
