Middle School Special Education Teacher

Under the direction of the Director of Special Education and the principal, teach and instruct middle school students who require remedial and specialized assistance in preacademic, academic, social-emotional, behavioral, adaptive behavior, daily living, pre-vocational skill areas; plan, develop, organize and assist in the operation of comprehensive individualized educational program for students with a variety of disabilities; assist instructional personnel responsible for students with disabilities in making an appropriate adjustment to an educational program requiring an increased level of independence;

perform other related functions as required. There are classroom two instructional assistants to support the students.

Minimum Qualifications:

-K-8:
Education Specialist Instruction Credential—Mild/Moderate Disabilities, Specialist Credential in Special Education—Learning Handicapped or equivalent or currently enrolled in a Mild/Moderate credentialing program with the ability to obtain an intern credential.

-Possession of a valid California Driver's License.
