Johanson Technology Inc. (JTI) is looking for a Improvement/Quality Engineer, responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield, efficiency, and process stability across manufacturing operations.
JTI has over thirty years' experience specializing in the design, manufacture and sales of high-quality Power and RF ceramic chip capacitors, inductors, and Integrated Passive Components into the global electronics market.

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field; or equivalent technical education and relevant work experience.
- Minimum of 3
-5 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Continuous Improvement roles. - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
Education and Experience
- Master's degree in Engineering or technical field.
- Experience in electronics or ceramic manufacturing.
- Experience working in small to mid-sized manufacturing environments.
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) from the American Society of Quality (ASQ).
- Experience in high-reliability manufacturing environments (military, medical, aerospace).
- Fluency in Spanish.

Continuous Improvement, Data Analysis & Corrective Action- Lead initiatives to improve yield, reduce scrap/rework, and enhance process capability (Cp/Cpk).
- Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends, loss drivers, and improvement opportunities.
- Conduct failure analysis and structured root cause investigations (8D, 5-Why, PDCA).
- Implement and validate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Develop and sustain process controls to prevent recurrence and ensure stability.
- Support MRB activities, including troubleshooting non-conforming material and determining risk-based dispositions.
- Provide technical guidance on drawings, specifications, and measurement systems.
- Support incoming inspection for critical raw materials.
- Assist in resolving internal quality issues impacting production.
- Support RMA investigations and customer-related quality issues.
- Assist in resolving supplier quality issues impacting production or customers.
- Participate in internal and external audits (ISO
9001, AS9100, ISO
14001) and support audit readiness. - Collaborate cross-functionally to implement process improvements and ensure alignment between procedures and shop‑floor execution.
- Support updates to procedures, work instructions, and related training.
- Strong understanding of ISO
9001 and quality management system principles. - Ability to audit manufacturing processes and quality systems.
- Proficient in root cause analysis and structured problem-solving techniques (8D, 5-Why, PDCA, fishbone).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and test requirements.
- Advanced knowledge of Design of Experiment (DOE) and statistical analysis.
- Working knowledge of inspection methods and measurement systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to translate data into actionable improvements.
- Effective communication across technical and production teams.
- Ability to effectively prioritize competing requests, keeping lines of communication open and team satisfied.
- High attention to detail and ability to resolve complex issues efficiently.
- Must follow safety procedures when using manufacturing/testing equipment.
- Self‑motivation and ability to stay focused amid distraction.
- Capable of prioritizing work according to department needs and workload.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to incorporate business considerations into technical decisions.
