Eaton’s Aerospace Interconnect Division is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to support our Interconnect Technologies Division in Camarillo, California.

Salary: $99,000 – $125,000 per year (range based on skills, experience and market considerations).

Responsibilities

The Senior Quality Engineer will develop, apply and maintain quality standards for flow‑down of customer requirements, engineering product key characteristics, and assurance of in‑process, final test requirements and shipping/receiving inspection processes.

  • Review customer/industry/internal specifications to ensure compliance.
  • Provide technical support to program management, operations, customers, and suppliers.
  • Lead formal problem solving for internal and external customers.
  • Complete quality engineering assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Develop, communicate, or train on quality standards, product specifications, work instructions and procedures across a multifunctional manufacturing organization.
  • Lead and provide technical advice and feedback to engineering and program management teams on continuous improvement and problem solving.
  • Partner with Design and Manufacturing Engineering to support all development projects and milestones to achieve zero‑defect quality and launch readiness.
  • Ensure shipped product meets internal and external customer requirements.
  • Lead corrective‑action process using 8D, 5‑Why, A3 and lean tools.
  • Act as an organizational contact for customer quality concerns and ensure appropriate corrective actions are deployed.
  • Evaluate, communicate and rectify in‑process rejections; obtain disposition and implement containment, corrective and preventative actions.
  • Formulate and implement quality assurance procedures, policies and standards in alignment with Aerospace Quality System Standard and Eaton policies.
  • Communicate quality issues to Integrated Product Team, front‑line leaders and factory personnel; lead root‑cause and permanent corrective‑action documentation.
  • Direct disposition and analysis of returned material and internal non‑conforming product; focus on top pareto items.
  • Promote a quality culture through QMS activities, regular audits (ISO
    9001, Eaton QMS), and employee engagement events.
  • Review supplier FAI submissions, control plans and assist with FAI and control plan creation; ensure Mandatory Inspection Points (MIPs) and customer approval.
  • Work with Design Engineering and Supply Chain to identify quality criteria on newly established parts and communicate requirements to suppliers.
  • Generate End Item Data Package (EIDP) that meets customer requirements for each shipment; set up a data repository to streamline documentation.
  • Develop and train on procedures for preparing EIDP’s.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 3–5years of engineering or manufacturing engineering experience in an assembly manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of quality systems such as AS9100, ISO
    9001, TS16949.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship and within 50miles of Camarillo, CA.
  • All applicants must be U.S. persons for ITAR compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications and requirements.
  • Experience performing quality audits.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA).
  • Familiarity with MIL‑STD specifications and NASA requirements.
