Engineer Systems

An aerospace client is looking for a Systems Engineer to analyze and contribute to software system designs and to support Naval Air Warfare Center.

Location: Camarillo, CA (Onsite)
Position: Systems Engineer
Pay Rate: $113.57/hr. on W2 (DOE)
Duration: 12 months or longer
Schedule: 9x80 A

• Analyze and contribute to software system designs
• Understand interfaces between multiple subsystems
• Develop test procedures for requirements verification and validation
• Perform basic validation activities such as module-level integration testing and regression testing
• Analyze test results, log defects, and collaborate with developers for issue resolution
• Work as part of an Agile team, participating in sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, and retrospectives
• Collaborate with our customers, internal sites, and other technical disciplines
• Participate and contribute to peer reviews, critical milestone reviews, and technical inter‑change meetings

• BS degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with 5 years of experience, or MS degree in a STEM field with 3 years of experience
• Ability to write clear functional/technical requirements
• Experience conducting integration, functional, regression, and performance testing on embedded software systems
• Proficiency with requirements-based testing and validate traceability from system requirements to test cases in IBM DOORS or equivalent RMS
• Familiarity with Agile sprint planning, test iteration cycles, and Dev Sec Ops  CI/CD pipeline activities
• Strong analytical skills for root‑cause analysis and defect tracking
• Effective written and verbal communication for cross‑functional collaboration
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently on defined scopes
• Participate in formal reviews, walkthroughs, and audits
• Collaborate with systems engineers to interpret Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Software Requirements Specifications (SRS), and system architecture documentation
• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Active Secret Clearance
• Ability to work onsite fulltime

• Experience conducting integration, functional, regression, and performance testing on embedded software systems
• Design and lead comprehensive test strategies, including system‑level integration, performance, and compliance testing
• Conduct validation activities, assess test metrics, and ensure verification results meet software requirements and stakeholder expectations
• Analyze complex test data, lead root‑cause investigations, and coordinate defect remediation across cross‑functional teams
