Systems Engineer
An aerospace client is looking for a Systems Engineer to analyze and contribute to software system designs and to support Naval Air Warfare Center.
Location: Camarillo, CA (Onsite)
Position: Systems Engineer
Pay Rate: $113.57/hr. on W2 (DOE)
Duration: 12 months or longer
Schedule: 9x80 A
- Analyze and contribute to software system designs
- Understand interfaces between multiple subsystems
- Develop test procedures for requirements verification and validation
- Perform basic validation activities such as module-level integration testing and regression testing
- Analyze test results, log defects, and collaborate with developers for issue resolution
- Work as part of an Agile team, participating in sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, and retrospectives
- Collaborate with our customers, internal sites, and other technical disciplines
- Participate and contribute to peer reviews, critical milestone reviews, and technical inter‑change meetings
- BS degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with 5 years of experience, or MS degree in a STEM field with 3 years of experience
- Ability to write clear functional/technical requirements
- Experience conducting integration, functional, regression, and performance testing on embedded software systems
- Proficiency with requirements-based testing and validate traceability from system requirements to test cases in IBM DOORS or equivalent RMS
- Familiarity with Agile sprint planning, test iteration cycles, and Dev Sec Ops CI/CD pipeline activities
- Strong analytical skills for root‑cause analysis and defect tracking
- Effective written and verbal communication for cross‑functional collaboration
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently on defined scopes
- Participate in formal reviews, walkthroughs, and audits
- Collaborate with systems engineers to interpret Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Software Requirements Specifications (SRS), and system architecture documentation
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Active Secret Clearance
- Ability to work onsite fulltime
- Experience conducting integration, functional, regression, and performance testing on embedded software systems
- Design and lead comprehensive test strategies, including system‑level integration, performance, and compliance testing
- Conduct validation activities, assess test metrics, and ensure verification results meet software requirements and stakeholder expectations
- Analyze complex test data, lead root‑cause investigations, and coordinate defect remediation across cross‑functional teams
